Surya Bhagwan likes us after all....Today's Gurukul style class/picnic turned out to be a huge success with the sun shining on us throughout the day! How blessed are we!
And the topic we chose to discuss today was...the games of India...of course, we cannot just DISCUSS the game....we needed to play it...and 'Play we did'!! How much fun was that ! The kids gave an almost 10/10 for the class !
The small class strength was no telling of the enthusiasm the kids had for learning and playing the games... Kabaddi, Kho-kho, Langdi (Nondi)...we played it all.... we needed to modify the rules given the small class size. Ask them about the games, what impact do team sports have on the individual players, how these games were developed creatively, and what other sports originated in India.
Next week, we will be discussing the contribution of India in Science, Education fields. And so, students are asked to read up the relevant pages from the book (page # 151-159) and also gather information so they can quiz each other next class.
